JSpaceCanada is following the change of government in Israel with heartfelt concern.

Despite extremist positions expressed by Israel’s newly elected parliamentarians, we hope that the new Israeli government will not fail to represent women’s rights — despite having meagre representation of women, that it will not violate the rights of LGBTQ+ persons — despite past hate-speech and promotion of conversion therapy by newly-elected officials, and that it will not allow calls for deportation or genocide of Arabs into civic discourse — despite newly elected officials holding such extremist positions.

We hope Israel’s government will uphold The state’s constitutional commitment to “ensure complete equality of social and political rights to all its inhabitants irrespective of religion, race or sex.”

As friends and family of the state of Israel and it’s inhabitants, we are here to support those striving for a democratic Israel with equal rights for all.
