Our hearts are with the family and friends of Canadian-Israeli Judih Weinstein-Haggai and her husband, American-Israeli, Gadi Haggai.
The return of their bodies to Israel today marks the return of the last Canadian held in Gaza. This moment is painful and heartbreaking, yet will also begin the much-needed process of healing.
We echo the statement of the Hostage Families Forum: “Decision-makers must do everything necessary to reach an agreement that will return all 56 remaining hostages—the living for rehabilitation and the murdered for burial. There is no need to wait another 608 agonizing days for this. The mission can be completed as early as tomorrow morning. This is what the majority of the Israeli people want.”
