Overnight, Israel launched strikes on Iran, targeting nuclear sites and senior military officials. In response, Iran deployed approximately 100 drones toward Israel, most of which were intercepted by the IDF and the Jordanian military.

With family, loved ones, and professional partners across the region, JSpaceCanada is deeply concerned for the safety and well-being of all civilians caught in the crossfire.

We recognize the grave threat posed by Iran’s hardline regime, not only to Israel but also to its allies and to democratic norms. It is precisely for this reason that we have long believed, and continue to believe, that the most effective way to confront this danger is through diplomacy and long-term strategic planning.

We are alarmed by the risk of a dangerous cycle of retaliation and escalation in the coming days, as well as the long-term possibility that these strikes may further motivate Iran to pursue nuclear weapons.

We urge all parties to pause and reassess. For the Canadian government, which appears to be charting a course toward diplomacy and regional peace, we encourage continued commitment to this approach, now more vital than ever.
